- Remember to either clean the air filter or replace it once a month. This will help keep the air flowing and the dirt out of your duct system.
- Keep the outdoor unit clean. Clear away any loose debris from around the unit and keep all foliage between a foot and half to two feet from the unit. Also, hose it down when you notice a build-up of dirt.
- Indoors, keep an eye on your return registers—make sure you keep them clear and unblocked by furniture or other household items.
During the spring maintenance visit, the technician will check your thermostat, tighten electrical connections as needed and conduct a full electrical inspection, add lubricant to all moving parts, check a long list of things (condensate drain, refrigerant levels, system controls, etc.), and thoroughly clean your system.
