UV Light Installation

American Air Cares installs and services UV air purifier systems in all areas making up Martin and St. Lucie Counties.

Indoor air quality is important to our overall quality of life and health—and there are a lot of things homeowners can do to ensure their air quality is as good as possible. One of these things is installing UV lights as part of your HVAC air purification system. American Air Cares is proud to announce that we are now an authorized distributor of the BLU QR® UV Stick Light.

The BLU QR® UV Stick Light

The BLU QR® UV stick light is the latest development in air conditioner UV light air purification systems. The new patent-pending BLU QR® UV stick light eliminates bacteria, mildew, mold, and viruses from growing on AC coil surfaces, ensuring your AC system runs more cleanly and efficiently.

UV Light coil treatment system

Superior to other UV lights on the market, the BLU QR® UV stick light has an exclusive quick-release lamp that requires no tools for lamp replacement. In addition, it comes standard with four mounting options (magnetic mount, panel mount, bracket mount, and direct mount), making it a workable addition to any AC system.

How it Works

Traditional AC filters remove the majority of airborne dust and pollutants, but they cannot block and remove biological pollutants such as bacteria, germs, viruses, mildew, mold, and black mold. HVAC UV lights effectively kill and control mold and other bacteria that are prone to grow and breed inside of an enclosed air conditioner system. All biological pathogens near the UV bulb are neutralized, keeping the cooling coil—and by extension the rest of the system—free of viruses, bacteria, and mold.

Usually, the UV light system is installed close to the cooling coils. This is because as the air in the system blows over the coil to cool, the lights can kill all biological growth that’s within the AC system; all air is pushed over the coils, so the lights are able to treat all air flowing through the system. In south Florida, this is a particularly useful addition to an air purification system as our evaporator coils regularly are wet due to humidity and are prone to mold growth.

How it Works

Though it is possible to purchase UV lights from home improvement stores as well as online vendors such as Amazon, we recommend that they are installed by trained and knowledgeable technicians to ensure they are installed properly and placed for maximum and most efficient coverage. Although they are fairly maintenance-free, our technicians will check that your lights are working the way they should during all service calls. Note that like your air filters, these lights also need to be replaced (though only about once a year) and our technicians can replace them during your yearly cleaning and maintenance visit.
