We really do care!
Sometimes your A/C problems can be solved “without” calling in a professional. That’s right, we are actually going to give you some FREE advice on solving some of these common issues. Our motto isn’t C.A.R.E. for nothing! Take a look below at our Q and A section to see if we can fix your problem:
Q. How often should I change my filter?
A. One time every 30 days? (unless you burn candles all the time, then it’s more like every 14 days!)
Q. What type of filter should I use?
A. The pleated type.
Q. My A/C won’t even turn on, now what?
A. Their are several things that could cause this.
- The first thing to check is your breakers, this is by far the most common.
- The second requires some mechanical know how. (make sure breakers are off for this) Open the cover to your air handler (indoor unit, commonly in garage) Look for a small car like fuse and check to see if this is burned out. If in fact it is, replace (with the same type, size and amperage) then turn breakers on!
Q. Unit is leaking water, now what?
A. Shut unit down, immediately! Most likely the drain has become clogged. Flushing the drain is required. For a temporary fix you can apply suction with a wet-vac to the outside drain. We do recommend you schedule a cleaning in the near future so the drain can be flushed and cleaned.
Q. Unit is not cooling my home, now what?
A. This by far is one of the most common service calls and the easiest to fix. A clogged filter. Take out your dirty filter and with a flash light look into your air handler, if you see ice your unit has froze over due to lack of air flow. Shut down for 8 to 12 hours, install new pleated filter and turn unit back on! A cool house is usually to follow!
